Cookie Policy
Last updated: 24 March 2026
This policy explains how Golf Guru uses cookies and similar technologies on dagolfguru.com.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We also use browser local storage and session storage, which work similarly but are not transmitted with every request.
2. Cookies We Use
Golf Guru uses only strictly necessary cookies. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Supabase | Stores your authentication session so you stay logged in | Session / 1 week |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | Supabase | PKCE code verifier used during OAuth sign-in flow | Session |
We also store the following items in local storage on your device:
- Push subscription data — your Web Push subscription endpoint, stored locally to enable push notifications if you opt in. Cleared when you unsubscribe.
- Install prompt state — whether you have dismissed the "Add to Home Screen" banner.
3. Why These Are Strictly Necessary
The authentication cookies are essential to the operation of Golf Guru. Without them you cannot log in, view your picks, or access any features of the app. Under GDPR and ePrivacy rules, strictly necessary cookies do not require your prior consent.
4. No Third-Party Tracking
We do not load any advertising networks, social media pixels, or analytics scripts. No third party places cookies on your device through Golf Guru.
5. Managing Cookies
You can delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that blocking our authentication cookies will prevent you from logging in. Common browser guides:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
- Safari: Settings → Safari → Privacy
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
6. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce any new cookies or storage mechanisms we will update this policy and revise the "last updated" date above.
